Joyce Lee Biography

Joyce (李樂詩) was born in Edmonton (Canada) and spent her early years in Toronto where she studied piano at the Royal Conservatory of Music (ARCT). At the age of 18, she was discovered by a concert promoter and signed her first recording deal in Hong Kong.

Over the years, Joyce has established herself as one of Hong Kong’s first pop singer – songwriters, in addition to being one of the most original artists of her time.

In 1994, her career took off with her 3rd album going double platinum. Her hit song “One day I will touch your heart (終有一天感動你)” which she composed, spiraled to the top of the charts, landing her TVB’s “Singer-songwriter of the Year” and “Best Song
of the Year.” Other awards included “Metro Broadcast Radio Station’s Best Leap Forward Award” and “Commercial Hong Kong Radio’s Most Air Played Song of the Year.” history. Her song “Kindred Spirit (真情) also went on to become the theme song to TVB’s longest running TV drama in Hong Kong.

Joyce has also starred in musical productions such as “The King and I” as Tuptim (2002) and Jesus Christ Superstar as Mary Magdalene(1992)

In addition to singing, teaching and producing music, Joyce has also starred in numerous local and overseas venues such as Caesars Palace and MGM in Vegas, Roy Thompson Hall in Toronto, Taj Mahal in Atlantic City and the HK Coliseum with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.

Recently, Joyce has written the theme songs for various charity foundations such as Kids4Kids and Redford Charitable Foundation.
